Jerome’s story arc on Gotham has been bizarre to say the least and while the signs have all been pointing to him becoming The Joker, we now know that’s not the case. In the video below, David Mazouz – who plays Bruce Wayne – reveals that the Clown Prince of Crime is on the way and that the way he’s going to be introduced promises to be something fans of the show will definitely appreciate.
“He’s not the Joker, that’s all I’ll say,” Mazouz says in regards to Cameron Monaghan’s character. “He definitely is the inspiration for the Joker and the way that the Joker comes into the show is, in my opinion, one of the most brilliant things that Gotham has ever done.” It seems The Joker will base himself on Jerome as opposed to being transformed after a battle with Batman in ACE Chemicals.
This news really shouldn’t come as a surprise, though, especially when Gotham stopped following the comic books a long time ago. It’s no longer a prequel to Bruce Wayne becoming Batman as such and is instead very much its own thing. Are you excited for The Joker’s arrival? Share your thoughts below.
